EFFECTIVE CONTROL PROGRAMS TO ELIMINATE NUISANCE BIRD CONCERNS

The two primary control programs used today are based on Mechanical Control, or Chemical Control.

MECHANICAL CONTROL
Modifications to the building exterior eliminating access points, harboring areas, and roosting sites is the best solution. These physical modifications may come in many forms and are species and site specific.

The more common barriers to entry and harboring are:

> NETTING - Exclusion of harboring and roosting areas
Installation of stranded structural bird net to any facility and substrate to eliminate roosting, harboring, and perching

Installation of either 3/4”, 1 1/8”, or 2” net as the recommended solution dictates

Netting portico, pediments, dock overhangs, light wells, columns, rooftop hvac equipment, storage areas aircraft hangars, and more...
> SHEETMETAL/METAL MESH EXCLUSION
Installation of sheetmetal, or 19 gauge metal mesh to cover holes, unusual building designs, areas that do not lend themselves to netting or other exclusion programs.
> CLOSURE MATERIAL
Installation of commercial grade closed cell material to the underside of docks, roof overhangs, walkway roofs, and other areas where small holes or cavities allow bird entry to harbor and or roost. (in some cases the building was not finished properly by the builder)
> ANTI-ROOSTING SPIKES
This control program is based on the exclusion of the bird through a plastic or stainless steel spiked device installed, and designed to occupy the current perching/roosting locations. Installed properly the spikes occupy the space normally used for perching and roosting by the pigeons. The spikes do NOT hurt the bird
> PERCH BLOCKERS (best used on I or H beams, and flanges of other supports)
Perch blockers, a mechanical roosting deterrent, designed to fully occupy the birds roosting and perching sites. The angle of the blocker(45° to 60°) is sufficient to create an unacceptable landing and nesting area. The bird is relocated.

No animals are harmed.

Perch blockers can be created from a number of building materials.

The installed perch blocker can be painted to blend with existing building colors.
> WIRE CONTROL SYSTEMS (aka pin and wire deterrent)
Establish a discreet wire system on ledges or other perching areas through the introduction of a stainless steel wire held taught and in place by strategically placed stainless steel posts. The wire repels the bird as the wire occupies the space normally desired by the bird.
> ELECTRIC TRACK DETERRENT
The use of electric pulse technology to deter roosting pest birds has been proven practical and effective.

This roosting deterrent program controls roosting birds through the introduction of an electrical stimulus on the leading edge of their perch.

The track system is composed of two parallel conductors imbedded in a plastic or rubber base. Upon crossing the two conductors the bird is subjected to a crisp, but harmless shock. This stimulus is sufficient to move the bird(s) away from the desired area.

Once installed the track is electrified using a solar charger or a 110 volt a/c charger. Most of the systems are discreet, and low profile.

CHEMICAL¹ CONTROL

> BAITING SERVICES
Population control to repel and reduce pest populations through the feeding of EPA registered and approved materials.

Through a system based on the label of the product a chemical is introduced to the flock to cause dispersal of some and control of others.

Note baiting services are done with a restricted use pesticide not available to the general pubic.
> ANTI-ROOSTING GELS
Chemical repellents applied directly to the roosting and perching areas of the building. This is a sticky tactile “goo” the birds do NOT like to stand in. The active material, (any and ALL of them), does NOT hurt the bird.

ADDITIONAL VERY IMPORTANT SERVICES WE OFFER
> AURAL DISPERSION (best used on Starlings)
This control program is based on the dispersal of the birds through the injection of loud sounds into their flight paths. Two sounds repel the birds. One sound being a loud percussion noise, and the other being a high pitch , high volume wavering sound. The projectiles to create this dispersion are launched with the applicator standing in an elevated position between the building and the flock of birds.
> DROPPING REMOVAL, SANITATION
Standard Cleaning, Sanitizing infested areas

Hydrocleaning Infested areas

Complete service, removal of the bagged droppings to a sanitary landfill disinfect and deodorize
> SECOND OPINIONS
Consulting services and Program Evaluation of existing or proposed programs by others.

Before you decide on one program get a another opinion.

You may discover a more economical or a more practical solution is available to resolve your your infestation concern.
